For protection and privacy, we sparingly show pictures of the 10 residents currently housed in our house.
Each morning residents are led in devotions by our house directress. (Additional Bibles and books are also needed - these can easily be purchased from the Union Bible Institute (where we ministered for years) located less than 10 min away She also likes to introduce the women and children to a variety of self help skills (gardening, bead work and sewing) She is in need of two sewing machines ($165) We are praying for partners to help us with these few items that are current needs along with providing their monthly food and necessities.
"Ebernezer" Up to this far God has helped us in these 6 months since He has given us this very challenging assignment. We have received many testimonies of God's faithfulness and seen His hand at work in lives as we continue to be the hands and heart in this global connection. We have a South African Board who assists us. We have virtual monthly meetings. We trust to be back in South Africa later in the year with our "boots" on the ground. JOIN US !
Testimonies of Rescue…
Another woman and her 1 ½ year old have left home because her husband, who is a pastor, has taken to drinking, women, and bringing friends home who drink. Her family has no space for her to return there. She needs to find a place to live, find a job, and start a new life.
We know Father God has a rescue plan for His daughters.
We had our first profession of faith and baptism at The Anointed House of Rescue! Praise the Lord!
The greatest warfare we have ever witnessed! At the same time some of God’s greatest blessings. Saturday was a great prayer + praise service held there and several of the church members even stayed around to lend their “hands to the plow” for tasks around the house. Then on Sunday the 7 women and children were without electricity or water. Electricity issues plague the area. Four days later electricity had returned to the area but still periodically has no water because of the municipality issues.
Praising the Lord for the provision of food through generous donations!
Additional news:
We were privileged to help with training a group of our local church's youth mission who will be headed to Jamacia for Jesus youth ministry this July. Join us in prayer for their safety and the impact they will have as instruments for this generation as well as the impact this mission will have on their lives. I recall hearing the call to missions as a teenager.
We also had the privilege to teach in our local church VBS program where over 500 children were in attendance. Dave and I shared teaching duties of 60 4th and 5th graders!!! 9 children from our class were among the 159 who gave their hearts to the Lord!
I was also invited to teach a Bible lesson to a group of women of a variety of ages, congregations, and nationalities from South Africa and the Dominican Republic who gathered at the home of our niece and nephew.
